Elastic Webbing, seating quality, per linear meter
Elastic webbing of seating quality, to create a sprung under-seat without the need for zigzag springs or coil springs.
The webbing is processed from the roll, and tensioned by stapling the end of the roll to the opposite side of a frame. Then, the webbing is pulled as taut as possible by hand across the frame and also stapled there. Only after this is the webbing cut or trimmed. In this way, you have the least cutting loss.
PLEASE NOTE: Ensure that the furniture or frame is stable and secure enough on the workbench to prevent it from collapsing towards you during tensioning.
Strap width 6cm.
Roll length 100mtr
Stretch percentage is approx. 30%
Made of polyester with a rubber core
Calculating the required amount works as follows:
Determine how many straps you want to weave across the frame, and take the total measurement of this.
Subtract 15-20% from this (You will stretch this out, but you also want to retain a bit of the stretch percentage for the springing effect, of course).
Finally, add approximately 15cm extra (after all, even for the last strap, you need something to hold onto to tension it).
If you are still undecided between jute webbing or elastic webbing, you can find a more in-depth explanation of the different webbings in our knowledge base article.
